Unifying Vision

Now that IPv6 is a reality in most new phones, computers, and entertainment devices, the opportunity exists to begin creating net-new products that expect seamless mobility, integrated security, instant connectivity, true convergence, and edge networking. These new products will change our lives, shifting the balance of power from provider to user, disintermeadiating traditional power brokers in favor of new players, and leverage the real ‘everything connected all the time’ reality. Localforce will put these new products into the hands of these ‘super-empowered users’, providing for both enhanced user experiences as well as new platform for commerce.

Being the entrepreneur at heart, I have a clear vision of my new goal-- to bring highly differentiated products to market in 2008. I’ll be forming my new ecosystem of ideas, money, partners, brains, and bodies as the project takes shape. While I’ll be launching this new business in LA (where media and technology meet), this will once again be a nationwide project (what can I say, I love to fly and it shows!).

Local Force Ecosystem

Money - Previously I raised 40+ million dollars from venture capitalists led by The Carlyle Group. This time, who knows? JOIN! Ideas-- If you’ve got a product, a product idea, or part of a product idea that leverages the new Internet realities in ways previously unattainable, we should talk. Or blog. Or IM. Or… JOIN!

Partners - I don’t hate the evil empire (choose mega company of your choice). In fact, I was even IBM’s chief eCommerce strategist once. I look for partners of all shapes and sizes. I can usually find a win-win in our first meeting. If not, we part friends. Google, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Apple, have as much to offer as the newest Web2.0 mash up. That’s why they call it an eco-system. JOIN!

Brains - I value to best minds in the business. As I network my way through life, I’m always looking to learn from the best and the brightest. While hard work, timing and luck play a role, Localforce will be differentiated by our well thought through ideas. Localforce will be forming an advisory board in 2008, and we’ll go from there. JOIN!

Life - A business plan is only a few sheets of paper (or a napkin in my case!). To form a company we need people at all levels-- developers, testers, architects, designers, marketers, finance folks, salespeople … JOIN!

Working with Local Force

As I set out to create this new eco-system in 2008, I’ll be an independent consultant, available to advice tech companies on raising money, profile, and how to grow; media companies on how to reach and monetize these billions of newly created networks of people; large companies to understand how these changes wil affect their business; information security issues of all sorts; and a variety of other areas. I’ll also continue to do speaking gigs www.GreaterTalent.com in this space, and I’m looking to sit on a couple of interesting boards (I’ve previously sat on two public company and 4 private company boards) of companies I believe in
